Cocktails over Christmas

As Christmas Day finally approaches we look forward to the time with family and friends to relax and enjoy. With all the presents and food to digest you may also be inclined to have a cocktail to enhance the mood. As you sit by the warm fire the thought occurs to try something a little different, something with a festive theme instead of your regular brandy or wine. There are a multitude of aptly named drinks for the holiday season. In fact, www.iDRINK.com lists nearly 35 recipes with a Christmas theme. In case you don't have a computer handy, we have provided a few less common recipes for you to try.

Christmas Martini Recipe

3.0 oz Gin
1.0 tsp Peppermint Schnapps
0.5 oz Dry Vermouth

Pour the gin, dry vermouth and peppermint schnapps into a cocktail shaker half-filled with cracked ice. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a candy cane, and serve.

Candy Cane

1.0 Lemon Lime Soda
1.0 half-and-half Cream
0.75 oz Creme de Cacao
0.25 oz Grenadine
0.75 oz Peppermint Schnapps

In highball glass filled with ice, combine peppermint schnapps, white creme de cacao & grenadine. Fill glass with half-and-half. Top with lemon lime soda. Garnish with a small candy cane or filbert nuts. Great for the Holidays!

White Christmas

1.0 oz Godiva Liqueur
1.0 oz Peppermint Schnapps
0.25 tsp Vanilla Extract
2.0 oz Vodka

Mix with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with mint leaves.
