Excellent drink
My uncle made a big pitcher of these one summer a few years ago, though I could swear he either put both oj and pineapple juice in or just pineapple juice.... It's pretty hazy, because damn, this drink tastes good! It's got this weird generic melon flavor, sounds bad described like that, but you can't put your finger on whether it tastes like watermelon or honeydew or cantaloupe or what. Definitely one you'll need to watch yourself, tastes good enough to make you lose track of how much you're drinking. Anyway, excellent recipe, worth a try.

i started drinking these when they were just shooters, make an excellent fully grown cocktail. i make these in bulk during the summer.

thanks for refreshing my memory, i have made this drink for a long time, but i leave out the vodka. it tastes better and is a slightly less dangerous drink that way. if i recall, this drink started out as a shooter (at least it did in Vero Beach, FL) and eventually became a real drink in the early 80s.

I used to make this drink as a bartender, but was searching to see if I remembered the proportions correctly. This is THE tried and true recipe. YUMMY (but yes, use caution, they're so tasty).

Make it better
IF you think this is good, replace OJ with pineapple juice. Been doing this for 30 years and it is amazing.
