Not Wisconsin Style at all!
I am from Wisconsin and this is not how you make a REAL old fashioned. Come visit our great (albeit cold) state, and we'll show you how it's done! First of all, you should make an Old Fashioned with Brandy. Then add 5 splashes of bitters, 2 tablespoons of simple syrup and top off with 7up. If you're real adventurous, a true Old Fashioned calls for you to muddle an orange slice, cherries, and sugar in the bottom of the glass first.
