| Directions: | Combine the orange juice ice and Sprite in a shaker and shake lightly (it's okay if the Sprite fizzes a bit)strain into a highball and pour the grenadine slowly into the glass until the drink is pink and there's a bit of grenadine in the bottom. Serve with a straw, Stir if desired (but that's not the way I do it:) ) |

Ginger ale, actually
A real Shirley Temple drink is made with ginger ale, not as most recipes online now, with a lemon-lime soda such as Sprite. Lemon-lime sodas did not exist in the 1930's, really not until the 1960s I believe.
